BRAD LIEBERMAN SQUARE THE CIRCLE Brad Lieberman is a Los Angeles-born singer, songwriter, multi keyboardist, and mixer. After a couple of decades devoted to family and single fatherhood, he has returned to writing and performing in the Indie-Folk, Singer/Songwriter and Heartland Rock genres. During the “New Wave Punk” resurgence of the 80’s, Brad formed the cutting-edge Synth Rock/Dance Band “Class Action” and recorded an EP featuring the single “Out of Time” by the Rolling Stones distributed by A&M records. Class Action’s music is still being heard in dance clubs today. As the 90’s brought new styles of music to the industry, Brad formed the “The Promise”, a roots-oriented piano, guitar rock band. The band frequently toured the LA club scene and often featured Hollywood rockers including George Collins, Johnny B. Frank and Knaak members Berton Averre and Prescott Niles to name a few. SEAL TEAM - FINAL SEASON CBS / Paramount CMG artist “Richmond” had their version of the late Robbin Thompsons’ composition “Heaven’s Gonna Call You Up” included in the final season of the CBS/Paramount series “Seal Team”. Hot on the heels of their elegant debut, the Dave Palmer Trio now turn their attention to the holiday songbook with Happy Holidays!, a warm and spontaneously arranged seasonal release. Across eight beloved classics — including “Holly Jolly Christmas,” “We Three Kings,” “O Holy Night” and “Silent Night” — the trio explore festive standards through lush piano melodies, expressive upright bass, and subtle, swinging drum work. The two with Chris Pierce singing were picked ahead of time but we approached them the same in that we came up with the feel and arrangements in the moment. The Dave Palmer Trio is a meeting of three world-class musicians with roots stretching from Philadelphia to Los Angeles. Pianist and composer Dave Palmer is joined by renowned bassist Reggie Hamilton and acclaimed drummer Joey Waronker, uniting decades of collective experience into a singular vision of swing-oriented, composition-driven jazz. In June 2024, Palmer reached out to the players he most wanted for the project, and within a month they were in Hollywood’s Boulevard Recording, tracking on a vintage Bechstein piano that set the tone for their debut. The sessions were produced by CMG partners Niko Bolas and David Resnik. Their forthcoming album presents an elegant and deeply considered collection of original jazz trio compositions, written specifically for this lineup. Inspired by the craftsmanship of Duke Ellington and Ahmad Jamal, Palmer emphasizes songs as much as performance, prioritizing swing, structure, and refinement over flash. The project is meant as both a statement of purpose and a starting point, “the beginning of an evolution of sound,” as Palmer describes it, laying the groundwork for what promises to be an enduring collaboration. One of the tracks, “Duke’s Blues” captures this ethos in full. Accompanied by a striking black-and-white video directed by acclaimed filmmaker David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night, Breaking Bad, Black Mirror), the visuals feature a surreal collage of AI-generated dog clips. It’s a fitting reflection of the trio’s artistry: playful yet sophisticated, rooted in tradition but unafraid of the strange and modern. While the album marks the trio’s first release, the members are far from newcomers. Palmer’s career spans work with Air, Fiona Apple, Fleetwood Mac, and Tegan and Sara, among many others. Hamilton’s bass has anchored performances for icons like Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, and Mariah Carey. Featuring the songs of Neil Young re-imagined by the likes of THE DOOBIE BROTHERS , BRANDI CARLILE , THE LUMINEERS , MY MORNING JACKET , SHARON VAN ETTEN , STEVE EARLE and many others. In early 2023 the principles in CMG began a benefit project covering the songs of Neil Young for the San Francisco area school “The Bridge School.” The Bridge School is a non-profit organization in California for children with severe speech and physical impairments. It aims to allow the children to achieve full participation in their communities through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technologies (AT). The school opened in 1987 after funds were raised from the 1st Annual Bridge School Benefit concert in 1986 with performances from Crosby Stills, Nash and Young, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Robin Williams, to name a few. Pegi Young was inspired to start the school after she was unable to find a suitable school placement for her non-verbal son, Ben Young, who has cerebral palsy. The school was founded by Pegi Young, Jim Forderer and Dr. Marilyn Buzolich in 1986, and has since become a world recognized leader in AAC and AT. The co-founder of CMG, Niko Bolas, has worked with Neil Young extensively over the last three plus decades. After a casual conversation about cover songs, Neil gave his blessing for CMG to cover his catalog. Niko and his partner, Dave Resnik decided the most compelling way to get a broad spectrum of artists involved was to create a benefit that would help the school and get a unique and diverse group of talent that would be interested in helping. Some of the participants such as Eddie Vedder, Lucinda Williams and Ann Wilson had performed at the benefit concerts which lasted until 2017. The project includes The Doobie Brothers, Brandi Carlile, The Lumineers, My Morning Jacket, Sharon Van Etten, Steve Earle and a host of other vital artists doing their interpretations of Neil’s catalog.
